Students from the Social Media Marketing and Sports and Entertainment Marketing classes at Monroe-Woodbury High School traveled to East Rutherford, N.J. to explore MetLife Stadium, home to the NFL franchises the Giants and the Jets, on their field trip on November 21, 2024. The trip included a tour of the stadium, its suites, and its exclusive clubs. This trip was both educational, and let students enjoy the experience of an NFL stadium. As a student in Social Media Marketing, I was looking forward to what we would learn. I’m also a Giants fan, so this trip was a really cool experience for me.
First, the classes split into two groups. My group started in the Moody’s Commissioners Club, a high-end private club that includes multiple seating areas, TVs, and a buffet. We also toured the suites inside the club, which can be seen on the second tier of the stadium.
Following the Commissioners Club, we went up to the suites on the top level. These suites were much bigger than the previous ones. I definitely prefer them over the Commissioners Club suites; I like how since you can see the entire field from above, you won’t miss any action.
After visiting more suites and clubs, we entered the press box. Here, we learned about what goes on inside during a game. Reporters from many different sports outlets compose articles on the game. We also learned about MetLife Stadium’s sponsors, and the interesting New York Giants Legacy Club, a team museum showcasing the history of the Giants.
The trip covered topics like field management and sponsorships which fit nicely with the goals of the sports and entertainment marketing and social media marketing classes that went on the trip.
This was the second year in a row that these classes traveled to MetLife Stadium, and I definitely think students should go every year. It is such a memorable experience. For students planning on taking one of these classes, you should definitely sign up.
Despite all of this, the best moment of the trip was at the very end, where both classes walked onto the field. Stepping foot onto the same field where my favorite players have stood was surreal to me. I will forever remember this moment.
