Does an ouroboros know when it’s eaten enough?
Does it know when it’s let itself,
Consume so much of itself,
That it is no longer that it once was?
Do you think the satisfaction
Of sating it’s hunger,
Outweighs the self inflicted pain?
The joys of destruction,
The pains of creation,
To it is it all the same?
An eternal game,
With no victor to claim the spoils,
And none vanquished to lay in flames.
It lays to ruin,
It lays foundations,
For those who will do the same.
Destroy to create,
And create to destroy.
Forever and forever.
And an eternity beyond.
Though blood spilt,
Though the gears yearn to grind to a halt.
They carry on.
Unto forever.
Unto eternity.
