Students in the drama club will be performing the fall play “Almost, Maine” later this week.

“Almost, Maine” is about people’s experiences with love in the town of Almost, Maine. The genre of the play is considered a romantic comedy and the story is told through a series of short stories.

The play will be directed by Ms. Balousek with Mr. Gardner, the stage crew director, and Mr. Kerstanski,  the A/V director.

Students have expressed their excitement about the upcoming production.

“My job is like really fun, but it can be challenging because you have to make sure everyone has a job and knows what they are doing, especially when they are making the designs and executing them,” said Bianca Mangonon, a junior in the stage crew.

“It is very fun and the community is awesome,” said Dustin Patoray, a junior acting as the character, Randy.

“If you’re a newcomer to the drama club, I say just give it your best shot and you’ll make it,” said Daniel Solano, a sophomore acting as Chad in the play.

Dylan Escobar, a sophomore in the stage crew, said that “if you’re interested in shows and productions” the fall drama is a “good place to start.”

Now that the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic have fully subsided, the play will be rehearsed and performed in-person this year.

“Almost, Maine” will be showing on Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5. Both events will start at 7 p.m. in the Monroe-Woodbury High School’s auditorium. Tickets will be sold at the door and will be $10 for students and seniors and $15 for other adults.
